Hindi - National Language Caught in Officialdom

OUTLOOK has an interesting article  on Hindi as national language specially in the context of  official work.
 1. I have had the good fortune to experience efforts to promote Hindi in सरकारी कामकाज, having worked in a government of India owned organisation once.
2. The highlight of this experience was appearing before the  Parliamentary Standing Committee to explain the work done by my employer to promote the national language.  
3. Once, true to my habit, I entered into an argument, with the 'Hindi Officer' ( हिंदी अधिकारी) conducting a   training to meet the official targets.
4. My argument was simple - you cannot promote Hindi through these methods.
5. The trainer protested.Had to. Her employment depended on the same.
6. Some interesting facts from this article :
a)Great Hindi poets like Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar were once part of the   official committees on Hindi.
b) Hindi equivalent of  a Customs Officer is " सीमा शुल्क सदन अधिकारी".
c) Dinkar called  this  a perfect      " Tulsidas ki chaupai".
d) The official Hindi words for some of the common  & functional English words are:
i) Keyboard - कुंजीपटल
ii) Globalisation- भुमंडीलिकरण
iii) Ergonomics - श्रमदक्षता शाश्त्र
