From the previous first lady of France Carla Bruni Sarkozy, to the present, Valérie Trierweiler, if anything has changed, it's fashion statement.
While Carla showed off her chic and feminine style with her crisp pantsuits and cocktail dresses, the new occupant of the Elysee Palace likes to keep it minimal and relaxed by opting for monotone dresses, blazers and long coats.
Assisting her partner and French President Francois Hollande on his visit to the country, the lady in power was spotted at the ceremonial reception hosted at presidential palace in the Capital.

Sticking to her signature style, the 47-year-old was dressed in a classic Burberry coat-dress paired with black pointed heels. The understated look was completed with a soft-hued clutch which contrasted with the dark dress.
Unlike Carla, who opted for flashy handbags and striking jewellery pieces, it seems Valerie prefers simple fashion choices. Her hair was styled in its usual bouncy curls, which finished her day look off nicely.
It was another monotone number for Valerie for her second appearance. However, she upped her look by notches this time. The deep grey semi-slit gown detailed with lace was the perfect pick for a formal affair.

The President's companion ditched her previous simple heels for sky-high peep toes, and this look stood out for its rich style and striking accessories.
The blingy black scarf, velvet clutch and bright lip tint added to this glamourous look.
While it's interesting to see her transform looks instantly and break away from her style zone, the only thing Valerie sticks to is her hairstyle.
